Technology
Door Lift — the technology powering vanDOOR
Automatic door opening system designed and assembled in Europe, deployed in fleets since 2003. Factory-integrated into the AluLIFT range, also available as a DL-6 retrofit kit from the original manufacturer.
Door Lift is an automatic door opening system designed and assembled in Europe. It delivers a secure closing cycle by locking the door without an external mechanical latch — a single push of a button opens or closes the roller shutter.
The system improves door durability, lowers maintenance costs and reduces injury risks from manual handling, including driver-courier RSIs. It is built around a dual 32 V bipolar DC motor architecture, a mechanical spring balancer and electronic anti-crush on obstruction.
On the vanDOOR AluLIFT range, the Door Lift motor is factory-integrated into an aluminium door engineered around the Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC. For fleets operating an existing roller door, the Door Lift DL-6 kit remains available as a retrofit from the original manufacturer.

Dual-motor drive
Two 32 V bipolar DC motors (12-24 V input, ~5 A converted output). Drive force ≤ 35 kg, no-load speed ± 195 mm/s, loaded ± 185 mm/s. Source: Doorlift 6 brochure.

Spring balancer
Mechanical spring balancer that keeps the door counterweighted. Indicative lifespan 15,000 to 25,000 cycles, or 1.5 to 2 years under intensive use. Source: AluLIFT maintenance manual v03-2026 §5.3.

Electronic anti-crush
Obstacle detection, stop and slight reopen so fragile loads are not damaged. Verbatim brochure: “electronic anti-crush on obstruction”.

PIEK & Machinery Directive compatible
Silent operation, PIEK 60 dB(A) compatible for urban deliveries. CE marked, Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC compliance on the AluLIFT door, RoHS on plastic parts.

Motor-unit 160,000 cycles / 5 years
